Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo issued a statement denouncing the violent act and calling for the protection of seafarers in conflict zones. “We demand an immediate cessation of these hostilities that endanger the lives of innocent civilians and disrupt global maritime trade,” Manalo stated.
