MOTHER and her daughter were detained for bringing 14.36 kg of cocaine into the country on Thursday at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.

The Bureau of Customs (BoC) reported that two Singaporeans, Siti Aishan Binte Wang, 63, a waitress, and Nur Alaviyah Binti Hanaffe, 39, a make-up artist, who arrived in Manila via a Qatar Airlines aircraft from Doha, had more than P76 million worth of illegal drugs seized from them.

According to the BoC, investigators profiled arriving passengers before catching the foreigners.

According to early reports, federal agents found cocaine concealed in a variety of products, including cylindrical cylinders, biscuit tins, canisters, and cartons stowed beneath the travelers’ bags.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) was given custody of the suspects and the recovered cocaine in order to conduct further research.

According to agents from the BoC, PDEA, PNP-Aviation Security Group, and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, the drugs were found in two bags that the Singaporean travelers were carrying, a trolley bag and a duffel bag.
