One injured, two dead in Manila crash

Before dawn yesterday, a truck, tricycle, and motorcycle collided in Paco, Manila, resulting in two fatalities and one injured.

Motorcycle rider Ronald Betonio, 35, was taken to the closest hospital for treatment, but tricycle driver Apolonio Toyado III, 42, and his passenger Joven Braga, 46, perished at the spot, according to police.

At approximately 1:50 a.m., Sanny Ayon, a worker at Malacañang, was operating a pickup truck in the westbound lane of Guanzon street when Toyado overtook Ayon.

The motorcycle that Betonio was riding in the eastbound lane of the same street was sideswiped by Toyado’s tricycle.

Employees of the city’s disaster risk reduction and management office attempted to bring Toyado and Braga back to life, but were unable.
According to police, the matter will be sent to the municipal prosecutor’s office in Manila.
