Regarding the SMNI probe, former president Duterte wants to speak “indirectly” with President Marcos Jr.

Former President Rodrigo Duterte expressed his desire to speak “indirectly” with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on the Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) probe.

According to a report published by King Pandia on Sunday regarding Super Radyo Davao, Duterte stated in a press conference that he has not discussed the matter with Apollo Quiboloy and that he merely wants to assist the religious leader because the investigation that is still ongoing has an impact on the former chief executive’s program on SMNI. “Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa” .

“I do not want to control the President but rather I want to talk to him indirectly,” Duterte said.
It is said that SMNI is a broadcasting branch of Quiboloy’s Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC), owned and run by Swara Sug Media Corporation.
“One of these days I will come up with a statement not necessarily defending Pastor Quiboloy but just to say something about the way things are,” Duterte stated.

Duterte stated that he does not support the National Telecommunications Commission’s (NTC) move to look into SMNI, stating that he believes the broadcasting corporation has done nothing wrong.

“No accusations or charges of any wrongdoing have been made by the NTC,” Duterte told the Davao media.

Due to alleged violations of the terms and conditions of its franchise, the NTC has suspended SMNI activities for 30 days.In order to adequately respond to the accusations made against their client, SMNI counsel has asked authorities for an extension until January 20.
