Abegail Rait, a former flight attendant who recently in the headlines for her past relationship with the late artist Francis Magalona, has drawn criticism for why she decided to run in the barangay elections.

When Abegail disclosed that she had a kid with Francis Magalona before his death in 2009, the public became captivated by her.
She also presented her child, who is reportedly the rapper’s youngest child.
She also disclosed that she had received a signed jersey from Francis, which she sold for P500,000. She wanted the buyer to treasure the jersey and save it as a keepsake, so that everytime they thought of her, they would be reminded of her.
Since the person she sold the jersey to, Jayson Luzadas of “Pinoy Pawnstar,” intended to use it in a museum to display his collections, she thought there would be no other buyers for it.
The Magalona family has not yet released a statement in reaction to Abegail Rait’s recent disclosures or her desire to pursue a career in politics.
