Philippines’ MANILA The 27th Siargao International Surfing Cup will be held from October 25 to November 1 at the legendary Cloud 9 of Siargao, which is located within the energetic municipality of General Luna, Surigao del Norte.
The event, which attracts athletes and enthusiasts from all over the world, is a testament to Siargao’s famed waves and its steadfast spirit in the face of difficulties in the past.
The World Surf League collaborates with the Municipality of General Luna on this event, which was started in 1994 by former governor Lalo Matugas and former mayor Jaime Rusillon.
As professional surfers from across the world prepare to compete for the WSL Men’s and Women’s QS3000 International Surfing Cup, the edition this year promises to be a multi-centric celebration of surfing culture, values, and community.
The Municipality of General Luna, the Office of Surigao del Norte 1st District Representative Francisco Jose “Bingo” Matugas II, Streakk, Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, Tingog Party List Representative Yedda Romualdez, Mr. Vincent Marcos, and NextGen are organizing the event, which aims to promote Siargao on a global scale.
The competition is important for the Siargao community as well because it attracts visitors from all across Asia in addition to athletes.
