Bolts: Hungry, Dreaming, Believing – The Journey Continues

MANILA, Philippines — The Meralco Bolts are using the excitement of their first PBA title as motivation to continue striving for more success. Speaking at a victory celebration with fans at One Ayala Mall, Team governor Atty. Bill Pamintuan emphasized the Bolts’ commitment to proving their Philippine Cup victory is just the beginning.

“For the next Governors’ Cup (Season 49 opening conference), we promise all our players will fight hard again, and we’ll be back here to celebrate once more,” Pamintuan declared to the enthusiastic crowd of Meralco supporters and players.

The celebration served as a platform to highlight the values that guided the Bolts through numerous challenges, culminating in their impressive 4-2 victory over defending champions San Miguel Beer in the finals. “Everyone here fights in life. I want to tell you: Nothing is impossible,” said Meralco sharpshooter Allein Maliksi.

“We’re here to inspire you to keep chasing your dreams. We dreamed of winning, and we achieved it. We believed it was possible, and we made it happen.”

Chris Newsome, the Finals MVP who hit the decisive fade-away jumper in the final seconds of their thrilling 80-78 win last Sunday, reinforced Maliksi’s message.

“You may face tough times, but remember to surround yourself with good people and a solid support system,” said Newsome, who waited nine years to become a PBA champion.

“As you can see, we all support and believe in each other despite our successes and failures. We constantly lift each other up. So I encourage you to keep good people around you, maintain a strong support system, and believe that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.”

With their focus firmly on future victories, the Bolts exemplify their motto: hungry, dreaming, believing. The journey continues, and Meralco is ready to pursue more triumphs and create more unforgettable moments for their loyal fans.
