Philippines’ MANILA Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2023 compiled a list of the “Top Islands in Asia” that includes Siargao, Palawan, and Boracay.
The results of the magazine’s online vote placed Siargao in 10th place with a score of 87.37, Boracay third with 91.07, Palawan sixth with 89.71, and Siargao eleventh with 87.71.
The top spot went to Bali in Indonesia, which was followed by the Japanese islands of Okinawa and Ryukyu, Siargao, Boracay, Phuket in Thailand, Langkawi in Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Palawan, and Ph Quc in Vietnam.
In a statement, Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco applauded the honors bestowed upon Boracay, Palawan, and Siargao, noting that “this achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and sustainable tourism efforts of our country, from our local communities, national and local government agencies, and stakeholders who have strived tirelessly to preserve and enhance the beauty of these islands.”
Approximately 600,000 Condé Nast Traveler readers enrolled and participated in the online survey, according to the agency.
