Authorities are confirming a report that a Filipino was killed during the Israel-Hamas fighting

Philippines’ MANILA The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv stated on Tuesday that authorities are looking into a complaint regarding a Filipino caregiver who may have perished during the ongoing confrontation between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

According to Junie Laylo, the Philippine ambassador to Israel, a Filipino community leader stated that a caregiver had been assassinated.

Lalyo responded, “We’ll check that.” No other information was offered.

Twenty-three Filipinos have been saved by Israeli security forces, while five are still missing.

One of the people who was saved is being treated in a hospital for an arm wound. In a different interview with CNN Philippines, the officer in charge of the Department of Migrant Workers indicated that the person is “out of harm’s way.”

After receiving treatment for smoke inhalation, another Filipino patient was released.

Those who were saved were visited by officials, who also offered help. Cacdac reports that 83 abroad Filipino employees and their families have already requested aid through the help desk established up by the DMW and the abroad Worker Welfare Administration.

Reports that Filipinos have been kidnapped by Hamas militants are still being verified by authorities. The Department of Foreign Affairs reported on Monday that a woman from the Philippines claimed to have seen her husband among those being held captive by armed individuals.
